Well, this week took a turn, didn't it?  For me, the week started off on such a good note.  Work was going well, I was working on my fitness, eating healthy, things just seemed up.  And then Wednesday afternoon came, and I found myself standing in front of my TV, my mouth literally hanging open, as I watched the events unfold at the Capitol in disbelief.  That, plus all that has happened over the years, especially in 2020, has been hanging extra heavy on me - I'm not sure how to even really put it in words.  To say Thank Goodness It's Friday!, would be an understatement, because at least that means work is one less thing to carry.

Had this been last year, I probably would have foregone a post for today, but having some routine is good during unsettling times, and I am really not trying to break one of my resolutions already, with just over one week into the new year.

So, if you are up for a little lightness, here are my Friday favorites.

1.  theboardandthebabe instagram.  The woman behind @theboardandthebabe instagram is my cousin's wife.  She makes the neatest charcuterie and grazing boards!  Her gorgeous charcuterie wreath has had multiple features online - The Pioneer Woman, Better Homes & Gardens, Food & Wine - just to name a few.

2.  corporatenatalie instagram.  I found @corporatenatalie on my explore page, and it has been cracking me up ever since.  If you work in, or have worked in corporate America, so many of these are spot on.  And even if you don't have a corporate job, if you have gone virtual at all, I am sure plenty of these are still applicable.

This was one of my favorites!  So cheesy, but so hilarious.

3.  Wrist/Ankle Weights.  I received these ankle weights for Christmas, and they have been the perfect way to get in a little extra workout when talking walks.  They may be only 3 pounds in total, but they pack a punch.  I made the mistake of wearing them one afternoon, then doing a Peloton ride the next morning, and boy oh boy, were my legs heavy that morning.  I have learned my lesson and don't wear them when I plan to do a Peloton ride the next day, but otherwise I try to remember to velcro them on before setting off on a walk.

4.  Bridgerton.  I feel like a lot of the time I am late to the game on popular Netflix shows.  However, I jumped on the Bridgerton train right away!  I enjoy period shows, and this one seemed like the perfect option to kill some time during that week between Christmas and New Year's.  The cast is amazing, and I was super excited to see Rege-Jean Page.  He was on a show, For the People, a few years ago, which I really, really enjoyed.  Unfortunately it got cancelled after two seasons, but it looks like it all worked out for him.  The last episode is absolutely the best, too.  While it's wide open for a second season, they don't do some big, crazy cliffhanger, which I so appreciate.

5.  Sherpa Socks.  The ladies in my family got these as a little pre-Christmas presents, so we could be cozy at home for the holidays.  We opted for the snowflakes, since it was a little more 'Christmas-y', but they also are available in plaid and leopard.  The socks are ridiculous warm, and they have the little grippy dots on the bottom, so you won't be slipping and sliding all around.

  6. I am not a huge period show person, but do you think I would like it even though I am not a period show person? I know sounds weird. Ha. That charcuterie board is amazing. I sooo need to follow both accounts.

    1. I think so! The way the show is done is really neat, plus they have some really cool current aspects, like the music they play. It's all instrumental, but it's current songs! I think you will definitely enjoy both those accounts - Natalie is hilarious and her jokes are soooo on point. And Jennifer just does such a neat job.
