Friday Favorites: Netflix Movies, Hallmark Movies, Christmas Drinks, Amazon Commercial & Fall TV

Happy Friday!  This Friday is especially happy, because I am on PTO!  It's always nice to take a day off, and I have big plans to make the most of this day, that way I can laze around the rest of the weekend.

Here are some favorites from the week...

1.  Netflix Christmas Movies.  In the past, I haven't watched many Netflix Christmas movies...Hallmark pretty much has the monopoly for me, but the past few weekends I was looking for something a little different than the norm, and checked out two Netflix Christmas movies.

First up, Holidate.  I was intrigued by the cast of this one so I gave it a go and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I was literally laughing out loud at some points.  If you are looking for a sweet movie, this is not it.  But if you are looking for a hilarious movie with a sweet story in there, I would say this is it.

The second movie I watched was Operation Christmas Drop.  This was more Hallmark-y, but I like those, so it was right up my alley.  And it's based on a true Christmas tradition, which is so darn neat.

I started watching The Christmas Switch, but I when I turned it on, I was pretty darn tired and didn't make it all the way through.  From what I did see, though, it was good!

2.  Hallmark Christmas Movies.  Moving from Netflix to Hallmark, I feel like Hallmark has had some really good ones so far this year.  They offer a nice, feel-good escape from the real world, which we could all use these days.

3.  Starbucks Christmas Drinks.  One of my very favorite Starbucks drink is the Caramel Brulee Latte, and it is back!  I get one or two a week, as a treat, and I fully intend to have my share of these drinks before the season is over!

4.  Amazon Commercial.  While most of my TV time is spend watching shows on the DVR, I do occasionally watch live TV and catch a commercial, as opposed to fast forwarding right through it.  One that caught my attention recently was the Amazon ballerina commercial.  The commercials takes you through the beginning of COVID to now, and it absolutely heart warming.  I won't lie, it had me tearing up quite a bit, because it's just amazing what people can do when they come together.  And the dancer is absolutely stunning.  I was finding a link to send to someone because I loved it so much, when I read that this commercial is kind of a true story.  A dancer misses her recital because of COVID, and Amazon gives her the stage of TV to dance.  Again, she is just stunning and oh so very talented.

5.  One Chicago.  Two of my favorite shows are Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.  They started back this week, and I am so very happy.  I added in Chicago Med to the mix this season, because they sometimes do crossovers, and I figured it is good to keep up with the sometimes overlapping storylines.  I love the glimpse it gives me at my favorite city, and I am just so very happy that fall TV is back!
