Happy Friday!  I feel like this week just flew by...not to mention the year.  I know the days seemed long, but how the heck are we already in October?

I have a few favorites to share today, so let's get to it!

1.  The Official Start to Fall.  Although it's been fall in my heart since pretty much August, the official start came last week and I was thrilled for it.  And it seems like the weather is right on track with it, too, minus a ridiculously warm last Saturday.

I found this free printable online that I used in my fall decor this year, and thought it was the perfect fall quote.  I love this time of year!

2.  Fall Phone Background.  I am not one that changes my phone background often.  But, the other day when I was back home, my mom mentioned offhand that it was time for her to change her background.  I thought that was a fun idea, so I opened up Pinterest and looked up some fall backgrounds.  I found some cute ones, and ultimately decided on this pretty leaf design.  I feel a bit silly the amount of joy I get from having this new background.  It truly is the little things!

3.  Midwesterner Sweatshirt.  I saw this 'Midwesterner' sweatshirt on Olivia Rink's instagram, and thought it was so cute.  I loved the simple design, and the pretty color.  I was on the fence about ordering it, but ended up doing so, and I am so glad I did!  The sweatshirt is so soft - both the inside and the outside.  It's so very comfy.  Per Olivia's recommendation, I went up two sizes, and it is the perfect oversized fit.

4. Under the Southern Sky.  While it is still months away, I am super excited about Kristy Woodson Harvey's newest book.  I became a fan of hers with the Peachtree Bluff series, and then her latest book, Feels Life Falling was probably one of my favorites of the summer.  This story line of this one sounds quite interesting, and I am excited to read it when it comes out in April.

5.  Pre-orders - True Comfort & The Return.  I have mentioned before how much I love pre-ordering books on Amazon.  They always give you the best price, and you can save so much money between the time you order, and the time it is actually released.  Back in February and March I placed two pre-orders.  One for True Comfort, the lastest cookbook from Kristin Cavallari, and one for The Return, Nicholas Sparks' latest book.

I haven't had a chance to try out anything in the cookbook, but I have one of the recipes on tap to make this weekend.  It's a bacon, chicken and pea pasta...sounds delicious.  Sometimes I find her recipes a bit intimidating, because she uses some ingredients I am not familiar with.  But the recipes in this cookbook seemed more doable for me.  Don't get me wrong, there are still quite a few ingredients I will need to stock up on, but they just seem more up my alley.  I am a comfort food lover, so that is probably why!

For years, Nicholas Sparks has been one of my favorite authors.  I have a ton of his books, and when I saw he had a new one out, I wanted to make sure to grab it to add to my collection.  I have quite a few ebooks from the library I need to make my way through first, but I can't wait to dig into it when I do.  And read a physical book.  I love the convenience of the Kindle, but there is something about a book!

  1. I saw where Kristin just released that cookbook and I had a feeling you would be getting it! Please tell me how you like it! And I went to our local library Tuesday when The Return came out and someone had already checked it out so now I'm on the waiting list--I'm dying to read it! Have a great weekend!

  2. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the new cook book - I felt the same way about her first one so hopefully this is more non-cooking friendly! xo, Biana BlovedBoston
