Hey all, happy Friday.  This week sure flew by for me.  Granted, I was off on Monday so it was a shorter week for me, but usually those weeks tend to end up feeling longer than normal.  Not this time!

1.  Typewriter Table.  I mentioned this in Monday's post, my parents found an old typewriter table while cleaning out their garage.  Since they didn't have a place for it, I was able to bring it home with me!  Now it holds my record player, and even had a little cross piece at the bottom that makes for the perfect place to lean my records.

2.  Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Hits & Misses.  Pretty much everything on my initial wish list was sold out when it came time for me to shop, but I have been able to catch a few things in stock, like the Zella socks.  So if there is anything you have an eye on, I would keep a close eye on it, because you never know when it will suddenly be back in stock!  Of course, I was able to find some new things to add to my wish list, haha!

If you'll remember, my original plan was to do one post on the items I actually purchased and received from the sale, but they are coming in rather slowly, so I thought I would share my thoughts on what I have received thus far.

Hits:

Cubic Zirconia Pendant Necklace.  This is such a pretty, sparkly, and dainty necklace.  It has three different areas you can clasp it, depending on if you want it shorter or longer.  It's just really pretty, and a great price ($15.90)!  The silver option I purchased is no longer in stock, but the gold is!

Zella 3-Pack Low Training Socks.  Some of my ankle socks have seen better days, so I thought I would give these a try.  They fit well, are on the thinner side, and very comfortable.  While they are currently out of stock, if you monitor, you may be able to get lucky and catch a restock - that's how I purchased mine!

Levi's 721 High Waist Skinny Jeans.  I wasn't sure what to expect with these jeans, but my goodness, they so darn comfortable.  It's like you are basically wearing leggings.  The high waist is great, and I like the darker color.  The overall look/fit is very flattering.  I did order a couple other pairs of jeans included in the sale, so depending on how those are I may not keep these, but they are going to be pretty hard to beat!

Steve Madden Kaylah Pointed Toe Booties.  I ordered these in the cognac color, because the original ones I wanted sold out right before I could click buy.  They seem to be great quality, and I absolutely love the color.  The pointed toe looks so classic, and I like the little touch of silver on the heel.  Plus the stacked heel is very comfortable.  At first I wasn't sure about the split shaft, but the more I try them on, the more I like it.  These booties are definitely popular for a reason!

Misses:

Cubic Zirconia Earrings.  I was really excited about these earrings, but they kind of pulled my ear lobe down and were droopy.  I don't know how else to explain it, but it was not cute.

Dreamers by Debut Oversize Sweater.  I really liked the material of this sweater, but the fit, not so much.  The picture shows a neckline that looks to be a crew neck.  However, when I tried it on, it looked like a half mock neck.  I don't know if it was just too tight (the rest of the sweater was plenty roomy), but the way the neckline hit, it was not a good look.  I was disappointed, because again, the material was great, and I think it would have been a nice basic sweater to have to throw on with leggings or jeans, but the fit just was not there.

I still have some things on their way, so I am hoping for a few more 'hits' to share!

3.  Gilmore Girls.  I feel like this is the time of year when people start turning Gilmore Girls on again.  And I am one of those people!  I started from the beginning, I think it was last year, but then got sucked into other shows / movies.  I wasn't feeling anything else I had to watch the other day, so I decided to go back to where I left off with Gilmore Girls.  It really is a great show.  I never ended up watching the 'year in the life' episodes they did, so I am excited to see how those are.

4.  Yummy Dinners.  I made two of my favorite recipes this week - Half Baked Harvest's Butter Chicken & Caitlin's Chick Fajita Bake.  Both are so good, and make great leftovers.  Spending time in the kitchen, with some good music (and at times, a good drink) is one of my favorite things to do.  In those moments, it's like the weight of the day is lifted, and it's time to unwind and enjoy the evening.

5.  Trail Mix with Candy Corn.  My mom often makes trail mix, and she changes it up for the time of year.  For example, around fall she will add in candy corn.  I have never been a huge candy corn lover, but once it's added into trail mix, all bets are off.  I love it!  I plan to stock up now, while it's in the stores so I can indulge even when it's not candy corn season.

    1. Thank you so much - that is such a BIG compliment! The brand of the record player is Crosley. I got mine from Pottery Barn, but they seem to be sold at a bunch of places!
