Happy Friday!  I hope everyone has had a good week.  Work has slowed down a bit for me which has been welcomed.  I have been able to log off about my normal time each day, making the evenings seem a bit longer and more leisurely.  That said, I think all the busyness has caught up with me, because I have been super tired and falling asleep on the couch while watching TV most nights.

This weekend is supposed to be stormy and rainy, which I honestly can't say I mind all that much.  A cozy weekend in sounds like the perfect time to fully catch up on sleep and get a few things done in between reading, and shows.

1.  Library eBooks.  Speaking of reading, I finally figured out how to check out eBooks from my library!  It only took me years to sit down and do this, haha.  Guess it's an upside of quarantine.  Anyways, it was beyond simple - I really have no idea why I never did this before!  I was able to download the app on my iPad (my library uses Libby), checkout a book, and download it on my Kindle in no time at all.  It's very user friendly, and I am excited to utilize this method going forward.  I was able to checkout one of the new reads I shared on Wednesday - Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner.  Just beware, if you read this book, the prologue seems to come out of left field.  I seriously questioned whether or not I was reading the right book because it seemed so off from the description.  I know it will all tie together, but I just haven't made it there quite yet, haha!

2.  M&M's Fudge Brownie.  My sister in law introduced me to these M&M's.  My goodness, the filling truly tastes like a fudge brownie.  If you need a treat and love brownies, grab a bag of these!

3.  Record Player.  For the longest time, I have been wanting a record player.  Growing up, my parents had one in our living room.  I have good memories of us all in there together, listening and dancing to their old records.  Not only that, but I just kind of love the crackly sound of the record when it plays.  The internet must have heard my thoughts, because I had an email in my inbox from Pottery Barn that just so happened to show their record players on sale.  I had no idea they even had record players.  But, the deal was good, and I had a coupon making it an even greater deal, so I went ahead and purchased.

4.  Records.  With the record player, though, I needed some records.  I actually had one already, from when I bought an old Chicago record from a flea market.  I was using it as decor on a shelf, but the record was still in there.  As soon as I got the record player, I gave it a try, but it didn't work...which happens when you don't take the plastic off the needle.  Whoops!  I just assumed it was old and probably not stored properly over the years, so I went and started looking for others.  Target actually has a really good selections, as does Amazon.  I am hoping that when things open, I can actually go and look for records at places, but for now I will be enjoying the ones I have - Dirty Dancing Soundtrack (Amazon), Beach Boys (Target) & Motown (Target).  Plus Chicago, because again, it's amazing how things work when you take the plastic off the needle, haha!

  2. Oh wow, I wonder if our local library uses an app like that as well. I haven't heard of that app/idea but I'm totally here for it. Those Mnm's look delicious! Haha, Zac reached out to Mnm one time to "recommend" a flavor idea of his and they shut him down and told him there wasn't enough demand for his desired flavor. The record player is so cute and I love that idea. We have a Sono's bar in our living room that connects to pandora, apple music, sono music, etc. and I've loved having that. It's always on. One of my favorite stations is "baby lullabies" because it takes all the modern day hits and turns them into acoustic covers. Have a great weekend!
