Weekend Recap: Weekend 3 & 4 at Home

I hope everyone had a great Easter!  I am recapping the last two weekends.  With not a lot going on, I figured last weekend wasn't worth it's own post, but given these are unprecedented times, I still wanted to document it at least a bit.

So, starting with last weekend.  I was craving an actual movie night on Friday, rather than just my normal shows, and I found Someone Great on Netflix.  It was just what I was looking for, although after watching it I was craving a night out on the town with some girlfriends.  Not exactly the thing for right now!

I needed to catch up on some work things, so I spent a good portion of Saturday doing that.  Indycar did another iRacing Challenge, so I set my DVR, finished up my work, and watched the race.  This one was broadcasted on TV, which was pretty nice!

Sunday morning I was out in the yard for a good hour, getting things cleaned up.  I gave my ivy a good haircut, and it paid of this past week, because there was so much new growth.  I love seeing the mix of the new, bright green growth with the darker green from the winter.

Moving from last weekend to this past Easter weekend.  Friday I ventured out to Starbucks for a end of the week treat.  Some of the local drive thrus are still open, and thank goodness for that, because it seemed like everyone needed a little pick me up.  The line was insanely long getting there, and even longer leaving.  It was nice to get out though.  The sun was coming through in the prettiest light late that afternoon, and I loved how it hit my dining room buffet.

All week I had been making my way through my paper files, and I spent a chunk of Saturday finishing up.  I have a huge stack of papers to shred, and it feels so good to have that little project done.  It's amazing the junk I was still holding onto!  The 3rd of the iRacing Challenges was on Saturday, and my family did a Zoom meeting while it ran.  While it doesn't replace actually being together, I am really glad it's an option.

I got in the best package on Saturday - toilet paper!  Never thought I would be typing those words, haha!

Easter Sunday being so different hit me a bit more than expected.  I didn't think it would be much of an adjustment.  Depending on when Easter falls, I don't always make it home.  But not being with everyone was harder than I thought going on.  We did have a fun Easter egg hunt via FaceTime.  My parents hid eggs, then took the phone around the room, with my nephew calling out whenever he saw an egg.  I wasn't sure how it would all work when we first talked about it, but it was really fun!  I made a bit breakfast for lunch, and attempted bunny cinnamon rolls I have been seeing all over social media this past week.  Those were a bit of a fail, because I think only one of the five looked like a bunny, haha.  Still added a little bit to the meal, though.

I had been saving the finale of Modern Family for Sunday, and watched both the Farewell, and the finale episodes.  Goodness, does that show ending make me so sad!  It's been such a good one for so many years, and I wish they would have kept it going.

The rest of the day was spent doing laundry, cleaning, and relaxing before the week ahead.  It's going to be a busy one!

Linking up with Lindsay.

  1. I miss Starbucks...none are open here. Yay to the TO and sorry your bunny rolls didn’t turn out, they still looked yummy!!

  2. I'm jealous of your drive through experience - similar to Andrea, none are open here! We have some local coffee places open, but haven't ventured for that coffee yet. Hope you have a great start to the week! xo, Biana BlovedBoston

  3. We went out yesterday just to drive to the gas station and get gas; I am finding just driving around once a week is a huge help to my mood.

  4. Yay for toilet paper! My husband does iRacing and has been super into watching them too! Glad you've been managing quarantine with FaceTime chats!

  5. I just added Someone Great to my watch list. I was just telling B the other day that I've been wanting to watch a movie so bad lately but they just don't make movies like they used to. :o( And yay for TP!! I'm wishing I'd ordered some when you told me about getting yours because all we could find was 1 12-pack at Target and that won't last us long. We still have a good bit left, though, so I'm sure we'll be fine.

  6. You made the bunny cinnamon rolls too! Easter definitely looked different this year.
