Fall Favorites: Fashion

Time for another dose of fall favorites!  Last week, Sarah and I kicked off our Fall Favorites link up with crock pot recipes, and this week we are sharing our favorite fall fashion.

Fall and winter are by far my favorite seasons to dress for.  Even though it takes awhile to get to feel like fall around here, I have been dreaming about fall fashion since the beginning of summer, haha!

TOPS:
Like I mentioned just above - it takes awhile for it to get to feel like actual fall around here...not as bad as the south for sure, but still much longer than I would personally like.  To get me through those hot days when I still want to be fallish, I have a few tanks in colors that feel like fall, while still being weather appropriate.  I bought this one from Loft awhile ago, and love the colors and the floral print.

I also really love these Z Supply shirts from Charmed.  They are the perfect slouchy fit, while not being too big and have a really nice sleeve length (not too short).  I have the white, gray, and olive green, and you can pretty much find me in one of these almost every weekend.  Great for right now, and later, with a cardigan thrown over!

Once it does finally get cool, I am all about the comfy sweaters.  While I don't think I will by buying this unless it goes on sale, I really love this Free People sweater.  It just looks so comfy and cozy.  But it's expensive, so I will just admire from afar, haha!

BOTTOMS:
I purchased my first pair of AG jeans during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I love them so much!  They are so very comfy.  I know I will be wearing these over and over again.

For work, this is the time when I like to break out some of my favorites skirts.  I have a tweedy flippy skirt from Loft - it's a few years old, but this style is similar.

SHOES:
I already mentioned how much I love these open toe booties, and I am kind of kicking myself for not getting these booties earlier in the year.  I would love to have them in gray or black.  I know I keep saying this, but since the weather doesn't agree to fall when I would like it to, these are the perfect compromise to making me feel fallish, while still being appropriate for the weather.

Once is does start to get chilly, I break out my closed toe booties.  I have a few pair of tall boots, but more often than not reach for my booties.  I have loved these TOMs booties for years now, these Lucky preforated booties, and then I just got a pair of dark brown booties this year to add my collection.

A pair of tall boots I do reach for over and over again, are my Hunter boots.  I know I say this every time, but I totally thought when I bought these (over 4 years ago) they were just a super frivolous purchase.  I cannot tell you how wrong I was about that!  I wear these things all the time, and while I love them year-round, they are also really nice in the fall - think muddy pumpkin patch, or something similar!

LOUNGEWEAR:
Gotta have some good loungewear to cozy up in at home!  Lately, I have been wearing my Bare Foot dreams robe as a cardigan.  I can't find the robe online, but without the tie it basically looks like this cardigan.  Paired with any comfy t shirt, joggers or leggings, and my favorite slippers, I am set for a day / night in!

Can't wait to see what you all are loving in regards to fall fashion!

  2. I love that Free People sweater! They have one that's similar to that without the turtleneck that I want, but like you, I need it to go on sale because I'm not paying $150 for a sweater right now! I'm so glad you got the AG jeans!

  7. Yesss! I love that you included loungewear -- let's be honest, a favorite category of everyone! Haha. :) Good to know about the AG jeans, too. Sometimes it's hard to know what pieces to splurge on (and so awesome that you got them during the sale!).

  13. Fall in the Midwest is so difficult to dress for! I think it's supposed to be in the 90s later this week and them I'm sure it will be freezing cold by the end of the month, haha. I've never gotten into the open toe bootie trend but I might need to get a pair this year!
