DIY Keepsake Card Ring

I realize we are well into February, but I am going to take it back a little to talk about Christmas cards.  I love receiving Christmas cards, and I also love the idea keeping them, so that season after season I can pull them out to look back on.  Enter this super easy DIY.

Supplies:
Hole Punch (As you can see, I used one of the holes in a 3 ring punch, since I don't have a traditional hole punch.)
Clips (I found these at Michaels in the jewelry section.)
Cards

Instructions:
First up, grab your supplies.  Put the cards in the order you prefer.  For me, I put my Christmas card for that year first, as a separator for the years (so I know that everytime I see my Christmas card, the cards behind it are from that same year), and then put the cards in alphabetical order.  Punch a hole in the card, open ring, and slide card on.  Repeat!

Easy peasy.  This is so handy, and I love how these ring clips you just open and close as you accumulate more cards.

While I did this with my Christmas cards, I think it works for all types of cards.  I could see this being used to keep together cards from a special someone, birthday cards - whatever really!

  7. I have had this on my To Do list FOREVER. Right now all of our cards from previous years are filed in folders, but you know I'm cleaning out so I'm about to get it done! FINALLY! P.S. I spy our card!!

  8. What a great idea! I hadn't thought of figuring out a way to keep them and HATE throwing them away each year especially when there's pictures of children on them.

  10. I really need to start doing this. I always put my cards in a gallon size ziploc and write the year on it and pack them away with the Christmas stuff.
