Thankful

Hey all!  I hope everyone had a great Halloween.  I made pumpkin squares and watched Hocus Pocus, so I would say it was a successful evening.

It's hard to believe we are already to November.  Thanksgiving will be here before we know it!  In the spirit of giving thanks, I am challenging myself to be thankful of something everyday.  Intentionally thankful.  Too often, things go wrong, you make a mistake, or your day just has a bump that can kind of take over your thoughts of the day, when really, there were lots of little good things that happened, things to be thankful for if you just take a moment to think.  One of my favorite quotes is 'there is always something to be thankful for', and while I know that is true and I often think of that quote, I still can get lost in all the other things going on.  I intend to write down what I am thankful for each and every day this month.  Some days I am sure it will seem like a struggle, and other days it will be insanely easy.  Some things will be big and others very small.  Who knows - maybe it will turn into a year-round thing!

  3. I'm doing something very similar to that with my students and their daily bell ringer! I think it's a good exercise to remind ourselves that we have so much to be thankful for.

  4. Whenever I'm feeling in a rut or kinda down, I always start to think about three positive things from the day, no matter how big or how small. I find that I start to LOOK for the positive things from the day as opposed to dwelling on the negatives. That's also why I started doing my "weekly wins" posts on Fridays, too.

  6. I love this idea. One of my goals for the year was to start a gratitude journal and I never really stuck with it... but it's never too late to start now!

  7. I start my day by writing down three things I'm grateful for. It really does make a difference and it helps me stay positive all day. Which is not an easy thing for me to do as I have alot of daily struggles that no one really can understand.

  8. Wonderful post and syncs right up with my post today about being thankful this month! I made a list of ideas too. Too frequently we get caught up in the day to day drudgery and forget just how blessed we are in life. God is so good. Thanks for sharing!
