Show & Tell Tuesday: Want, Need, Wear, Read

Today's Show & Tell Tuesday topic is Want, Need, Wear and Read.  Until reading it on Andrea's blog a few years ago, I had never heard of giving presents in this way.  Thinking about it now, my parents do this, just not specifically with the 4 gifts, but there is always a mix of things that we want, need, wear and especially for me, read.

Want:  Tan winter coat.  I have been lusting over this coat for a few years now!  I don't necessarily NEED a new winter coat, which is why this falls under the 'want' category.  The style is classic and so is the color.

Need:  A new lunch box/bag.  This didn't make it on my actual list, but I realized how badly I needed one this morning!  Currently, I have a Thirty One lunch bag, which is great, but sometimes my containers are too big and it's hard to close...which is probably why I have a big hole at the zipper.  If anyone has a good lunch box/bag recommendation, please send it my way!

Wear:  Work dress.  I actually purchased this one for myself on Black Friday.  I feel like I have been repeating myself with this, but more and more I love wearing dresses to work, so the more I can add to my closet the better!  I really love the cut and color of the one I purchased.  It's a timeless silhouette, and I love how the light blue is a bit unexpected.  Plus it will work well for almost all seasons.

Read:  Standing Strong by Teresa Guidice.  I really enjoyed Turning the Tables, and am excited to read her new one.  It went on my Christmas list, so here's to hoping I find it under the tree come December 25th!

While this is a little sneak peek, I will be sharing my full wishlist (with different items) on Monday, December 4th in conjunction with Sarah & Victoria's link up (where I am the guest host this day!).  It's so fun to see what others are wishing for, I hope you will link up!

  5. I didn't know about this style of giving until blogs began talking about it either, but I think a lot of parents tend to do this automatically. And for me, I'm always happy with something to read. :)

  7. That dress is so classy and timeless! I love it. And the idea of "want, wear, need, read" is a cute idea to use when gifting children through the years. I like it!

  9. I need a new lunchbox/bag too! I currently have a 31 bag, and I sometimes have to flip my containers all kinds of ways to try to make them fit. I'm not sure what to get next, so send any ideas my way!

  10. I've never read one of Teresa's books, but I always enjoyed following her. I need to check one out! I love wool coats. I'm that person that buys all the fancy Tupperware lunch dishes and then puts it in the cabinet and I grab the most basic one I can find as I'm running out the door. Ugh!

  11. I bet that dress looks adorable on you! I've been trying to shop my closet and wearing more dresses lately too....and then I wonder why the heck I have been letting them hang there so long! I love the little neoprene lunch bags and you can snag tons of prints on Amazon. They are easy to cleanup and hold lots of food.

  13. My kids have those Yumbox lunch boxes and we love them! It's so nice to not have to ziploc bag everything and it holds everything so well. There's no spilling and mixing. I bet you'd love one. I've been thinking about getting my husband one for Christmas because he packs his lunch most days.

  14. When I was teaching, I used a lunch bag by LL Bean! It's great quality & has held up well-plus they come in a variety of patterns or sizes :)
