Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!  This Friday is even better than normal, because I am off work!  I think a movie and lunch out on are the docket.  Really just a mental break from work will be super nice, no matter how the day is spent.

1.  The Brave.  If you haven't set this show to record, do so immediately.  I absolutely love it!  It's about a special forces team and each episode is a different mission.  All of them have been really good!

2.  Amazon Smile.  I know many of you are avid Amazon shoppers.  I don't use it quite as much as I could, but when I do, I always use Amazon Smile.  Instead of using just plain old Amazon, if you shop through Amazon Smile, you also have the opportunity to give back to a charity of your choice.  It's not much, a super small percentage of your purchase (at no cost to you), but it's something.  I feel like in the case of raising money to help out, every bit counts.  With all the Christmas shopping about to ensue (or already ensuing), I just thought it would be a great reminder to us all that we can also give back super easily at the same time.  Many of you probably already use this, but on the off chance someone does not know about it, I wanted to share.

3.  Work dresses.  I have been gravitating towards dresses when it comes to work lately.  I have said it before, but I love them because they are easy - you don't have to think through an entire outfit, and they look super put together.  I saw Nordstrom was having 40% off some of their fall items, so I had to check out the dresses.  I ended up ordering two, both Eliza J (one of my favorite brands for work dresses), so that I can try them on and decide which one I like better to keep.  The blue one is just under $60, and the maroon is just over $70.  While they still aren't super cheap, I personally think it is a good price, considering they run right at, or over $100.  And they are versatile enough to wear to work, church and out.  Hopefully one of them will work!

4.  Jack Frost.  My little nephew, Jackson, was Jack Frost for Halloween.  How sweet is he?!  It worked out for my mom to come down and babysit, so she got to join in on the trick or treating fun.  It sounds like he got really into it and they made it to a few houses.  His first Halloween, he was a jack in the box and last year he was a jack o'lantern.  My sister in law has been so creative with his costumes and I love how they do something 'jack' themed each year.

5.  Girl Chat!  It's time for our monthly Girl Chat link up.  Next Thursday's topic is 'what is your favorite fall activity?'  Fall is my favorite season, so I am excited for this link up.  And let's be real, there is no way I can pick just one favorite activity, so there is going to be whole round up of them coming at you.  We would love it if you would link up with us!

  9. We use Amazon Smile to donate to our school! It's such a great idea! We found out about it a year ago and we use it all the time now. Every now and then I forget, though. I love both of those dresses, but I think the maroon one is my favorite. I'm always drawn to stripes!

  12. That's so cute that they do something jack themed every year. Love the dresses you picked out. Like you said, dresses can be so easy to work with. That's exactly why I love them too. Simplicity can be fashionable. Dresses and leggings are my go-to winter look.
