Friday Favorites: Shoes, Weight Loss & More!

Happy Friday!  Boy, I am glad to see the weekend.  Coming back after being gone from work a week is hard.  I think I was still recovering from our long drives and my brain took awhile to start fully functioning in work-mode.  Example - I totally thought a meeting I had on Thursday was on Tuesday.  I head down to the meeting room, taking my phone in case there was a last minute change.  As I am killing time, I realize the meeting is not showing up on my calendar, so I immediately think that my work calendar somehow got deleted off my phone.  I am sitting there trying to figure out what in the world is going on with my phone, when I scroll over a few days and see that my phone is working fine and I don't see anything on Tuesday, because the meeting is Thursday.  Luckily no one was using the meeting room at that time because it would have made things even more embarrassing, haha!  So, as I said, I am sure glad it's Friday / the weekend.

1.  New work shoes!  I have been professing my love for Calvin Klein heels for some time now.  They are my go to shoes for work (and when dressing up to go out, too!).  They have a classic and professional look and the best part is, they almost never take time to break in - they are comfy right out of the gate!  I've been noticing recently that my navy and black pairs could stand to be replaced.  Lucky for me - Macy's was having an awesome sale.  The shoes are already 40% off (no code necessary), which is a great deal in itself, but I also had a 25% coupon that I was able to use, making the total of two pairs less than the original cost of one!  It looks like the 40% off deal ends this coming Monday, so if you are in need of some great heels, I would highly recommend giving these a try!

2.  New tennis shoes!  Well, since I got such a great deal on my heels, I thought of another pair of shoes that needed replacing were my tennis shoes.  I've had my current ones for quite awhile now, and with the amount I have worked out in them, I figured it was past time for a new pair.  So, I decided to see what Macy's had.  I have wore Asics for awhile now and was looking to swich things up, so I landed on these Nikes.  While they ended up being almost as much as my two pairs of heels, I still was excited to get a deal and can't wait to try them out.  I plan to wear them mostly for working out, but I think they are cute enough to be worn outside of exercising, too!

3.  Biggest Winner 2.0.  The gym at work is having another one of their weight loss competitions.  You may remember me participating in others before, and I am sad to say that the weight I lost originally is back on, plus a bit more.  The timing of this competition could not be more perfect, because I have been in need of something to kick my butt into gear.  I am feeling super motivated right now to work out and make better eating decisions - I am hoping that motivation sticks and the addition of this competition will keep me on track and yield the results I am hoping for!

4.  Laurie & Emily's Great Adventure!  I have been sharing this week all about the road trip I took with my mom.  You can see Day 1 - The Pioneer Woman Mercantile here and Day 2 - Waco, TX (Harp Design Co, The Cedar Chest & the shop on Bosque), here.  I wanted to get in my October goals, and of course Friday favorites this week though, so the rest of the trip (Magnolia Market & Round Top) will be recapped on Monday.  As much as I love The Pioneer Woman & The Mercantile, Magnolia Market was by far the highlight of our trip and I cannot wait to share.

5.  Farm Market.  This Saturday is the grand opening of a farmers market close to me and I am super excited.  Along with fresh produce, there will be food trucks, music and a pumpkin patch area.  There are places like this all over St. Louis, but none that are super convenient to me - until now, that is!  Farmers markets just give me that down home feel that I often miss living in the suburbs, so I am really looking forward to checking out.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
