Weekend Recap:2nd in September

Happy Monday!  Can we go back to the weekend?  Because this one was so nice!  (Aside from Hurricane Irma - I hope everyone is safe and sound!  And people still recovering from Hurricane Harvey...let's be real the list could go on and on - just so many devestations across the world!)

Friday was a little crazy at work.  Our United Way Silent Auction opens today, and since I am the chair of that committee, I feel like I was running around doing last minute things for that.  I am excited though, because I really think this will do well.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!  Post-work was nothing too exciting.  I finished the book I was reading and that's about it!

I started off the next day with some cleaning (yay for a fixed vacuum!), a trip to the gym and a stop at the library to return the book I read on Friday.  I snapped a picture of the statue outside of the library - I just think it is so neat.  And obviously perfect for a library!  Breakfast was a pumpkin pie bagel from Panera (yum!!) with honey walnut cream cheese.  I hadn't had one of those in ages and it was delicious.  I had to get one more thing to make my fall decor complete, so I headed to one of my favorite shops, Three French Hens, to pick up a candle ring.  I also checked out a new place, Cocoon, which is a furniture / decor consignment shop.  They carry 1803 candles, which I really like!  I picked up the Vintage Harvest scent and I LOVE it.  I am still obsessing over pesto, this time mixing it with tiny mozzarella pearls, halved grape tomatoes and pairing with a burger.  I caught up on a lot of shows, ran to the grocery store and finished up my cleaning.  I went into a bit of a crazy organization kick and decided to go through my pantry bins, my freezer and my spice cabinet, clean them out and catalog them.  Yes, I have a spreadsheet listing ALL the items.  It seems a bit ridiculous, but since I have limited storage, it really is no good when I end up with three bags of rice because I couldn't remember if I needed it or not.  This will help for those times I run to the store straight from work and I don't have an opportunity to look through things at home prior to shopping.  I also realized I have a lot of random spices, like Poppy Seed...why in the world did I buy that?!  It had yet to be opened.  So as you can tell, I had a wild Saturday night!

Another early morning gym session followed by my first small group at church!  I am really glad I went and am already looking forward to next week.  After service, I went out to lunch with one of my favorite church ladies.  She is going to be out the next few weekends and I am sure going to miss her!  I went home and meal prepped, making one of my favorite meals, Beef Fasolia, and zoodles for lunches this week.  I picked up an Italian spiced ground turkey at the store because it was on sale, and I think it's going to be great with the zoodles.  As I type this, my evening consists of a movie, Home Again, and relaxing.

As a quick link up reminder - Wednesday is Fall Favorites - Fashion Edition and Thursday is Girl Chat - Favorite Fall Recipes.  I'd love it if you'd join up with us!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Linking up with Biana.

  1. That is a genius idea to have a running list of everything you currently have and a great way to not overspend when you're on the way home from work! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. Sounds like a great relaxing weekend. I recently went through my spice cabinet and had tons of duplicate and expired things. A running list is a great idea! Good luck with the silent auction!!
