Friday Favorites: Happy September!

Happy September!  And Friday!  My days have been all mixed up this week, so I am happy I will wake up today and it actually will be Friday, instead of me thinking it is Friday when it is really only Wednesday, or Thursday.

1.  Obviously the devastation in Texas is not a favorite in the least bit, but it's really heart warming to see everyone come together.  There are just so many good people out there and sometimes with all that is going on in the world, the good gets overshadowed.  While this is an unfortunate reason to be reminded of that, it still does show that people can come together in such a big way in a time of need.

2.  As many of you know, I am on the Young Professionals Board for Provident, Inc., a non profit in St. Louis whose mission to help people to a brighter future through counseling, suicide prevention and intervention, and community support programs.  We held a fun fundraising event last night, called Health & Howl, where one of our YP's (a certified trainer) held a work out class for the 'health' part and then for the 'howl' part of the event, the group headed to Howl at the Moon (a dueling piano bar) for some drinks.  Gotta love when a good time coincides with helping a great cause!

3.  On a much lighter note, I realized I never linked up the black and white dress I mentioned on Wednesday.  Whoops!  I really liked it and can't wait to pair it with black tights and booties when the weather get cooler.  Along with that cute dress, I also
.  Basically I just take a photo of my outfits for the whole work week and share!  One thing to really highlight are the NYDJ Ami jeans from my Friday look.  I am obsessed.  They are high waisted, stretchy (without being legging-like), and the petite size hits my ankle perfectly!  First pair of jeans that I don't have to roll up or get hemmed.  I really, really love them.  So comfortable and so cute.

4.  I haven't mentioned my new favorite shoes yet this week, so I figure they deserve to be a separate favorite.  I purchased these Vince Camuto open toe booties (in tan) during the Nordstrom sale.  I finally wore them this past weekend for my grandma's birthday, then out to dinner this week and you can bet I am wearing them again today!  I am probably going to be wearing these every chance I can get from now until it gets too cold to wear open toed shoes!

5.  To round things out for the week, I wanted to remind you all of two link ups coming up this month.  First up, the three week Fall Favorites link up.  Sarah and I will be kicking things off by sharing our favorite fall drinks on the 6th (this coming Wednesday), followed by favorite fall fashions on the 13th, and ending on the 20th with one of my most favorite things - fall home tours!  The second link up, Girl Chat, is also about fall this month - the girls and I will be sharing our favorite fall recipes on the 14th.  You know I LOVE to cook / bake / eat, so I will have lots of recipes to share.  There is lots of fun to come and I hope you will join in!

Linking up with AndreaErikaApril, and Katie.

  1. I love the open toe bootie but does it bother your toes? I tried a pair on a Target and wasn't sure if it was just that pair or all shoes like that. Can't wait for Wednesday!
