Fall Favorites 2017: Fashion

Today's Fall Favorites link up is all about fashion.  Fall and winter are by far my favorite seasons to dress for.  I love all the comfy sweaters, jeans and cute boots / booties.  The colors are richer and the fabrics are just so warm and soft.  Today I am sharing a few of my favorite fall finds - all things I will be wearing as soon as the weather cools down!

1.  Floppy Wool Hat.  It's time to break out the wool hats.  I picked one up from Nordstrom a few years ago and have loved it since.  It's perfect for apple picking, pumpkin picking, going to flea markets, wineries, brunch / lunch out - the list goes on!

2.  Classic Plaid Top.  I will never say no to plaid, especially in the fall.

3.  Cardigan.  Cardigans are staples for me year-round, but I love being able to layer them in the fall.  Whether on top of a simple t shirt, or over a plaid, they always look so cute and add that extra bit of warmth needed on those crisp fall days.

4.  Cozy sweaters.  I love slimmer sweaters for work and looser fit sweaters for the weekends.  Both are comfy and cozy!

5.  Jeans.  I cannot tell you how much I love these NYJD jeans.  They are high rise, which I love more and more, stretchy and the perfect length for heels and booties.  If you are shorter, I would suggest getting the petite (like I did), which makes them the perfect length without having to roll or cuff.  Also, they are not distressed, which makes them work appropriate, too!

6.  Booties.  I LOVE booties.  My collection just grows and grows.  I have a few dressier pairs that go well with skirts and dresses for work and church, as well as more casual ones that I am constantly wearing on casual Fridays or on the weekend.  Most recently, I picked up a pair of open toe booties, which I just love so much.  I will be honest and when they first came out, I thought how silly, why would I want a bootie that is open toed?  Doesn't make sense for the weather.  But the reality is that as much as I want it to be fall weather, it doesn't get that way for awhile, and these shoes help me feel fallish, while still being weather appropriate.  And they are comfy.  I also picked up a pair gray booties in July, which will be perfect for when the temps do get warmer.  I was shocked at how comfortable they are with the heel, but I cannot wait to wear them!

7.  Boots.  Ironically two my favorite pairs of boots are both UGGs and they could not look any different.  I love the classic UGG boots.  I have had mine since college and I continue to wear them each season.  They are just too convenient and comfortable!  I also have a pair of heeled UGG boots which are one of the most comfortable pair of boots I owe.  They are weather proof, too, which helps to keep the suede looking nice.  Another must-have pair of boots, in my opinion, are Hunter rain boots.  While these are something you can wear year-round, they definitely look adorable with jeans and a plaid top or sweater when out and about in the fall.  Think muddy pumpkin patch or flea market - these babies will keep your feet dry and leave you with no worries about ruining a favorite pair of shoes.

Can't wait to read about your fall fashion favorites!

Linking up with Shay & Erika, too!

  1. uggs are my favorite boot ever. I live in them from November-march. I don't care what people say about them being ugly haha. I have my eye on some open toe booties, I need to bite the bullet and purchase. I think they would be such a great staple for the coming months!

  17. Give me all the open toe booties for sure! I currently have 9 pairs of booties...9! Kind of ridiculous but since really the only time I can't wear them is the middle of summer and the middle of winter around here they are a great investment! I've loved the neutral ones you have shown here so far!
