Fall Favorites 2017: Drinks

Hey all!  Sarah and I are kicking off our Fall Favorites link up with our favorite fall drinks.

So, without further ado...

1.  Pumpkin Spice Latte.  An obvious choice, but so delicious.  I had my first one last year and haven't looked back since.  I used to LOVE coffee when I was little, I would always want some after dinner like the grown ups, but I outgrew that and began to kind of hate coffee.  I didn't like the taste and didn't like the smell.  I decided that although I didn't love coffee, I wanted to try the PSL to see what all the hype was about.  I went into it fully intent on disliking the drink, when in reality it was delicious and I love it.  I had my first one last Friday, and then when my mom was in town, we picked up PSL for the Keurig, which I have already enjoyed!

2.  Simply Apple (plus Fireball).  My sister in law had this for my brother's 30th birthday a few years ago and it is the perfect fall drink.  The Simple Apple juice has a bit more of a 'cider' taste to it in my opinion, which makes it perfect by itself for fall, but when you add in a bit of Fireball, you get this drink that just warms your insides.  It was great how my sister in law served it, too, because she had the Simple Apple juice in a dispenser, with cut up apples for color, and then left the Fireball separate, so that you could make your own drink.  It worked out well, because you could keep it simple with just the plain juice, or add in the alcohol for a bit of 'warmth'.  The perfect fall party drink!

3.  Hot Chocolate.  Once the weather gets cool, I break out the hot chocolate.  It's such a treat, especially when you top with marshmallows or whipped cream.  I am a fan of dark chocolate, and Swiss Miss makes a really good dark chocolate hot chocolate.  Yum!

4.  Chia Latte.  I really wanted to give this a try and ordered it once last year from Panera.  I wasn't super impressed, but a few months ago, I got it by accident when Starbucks messed up my order (and I didn't check before getting home), and actually really liked it.  The spice it has just makes it seem like fall!

5.  Cinnamon Almond Milk Macchiato.  Saving my tried and true for last.  I love this drink year round, and I think it is a great fall drink, too!  When I think of fall, cinnamon definitely comes to mind, so this definitely fits the bill.  And it is just warm and yummy.  It's a healthier option, too, which is always a good thing.  I plan to spend a little bit of time this weekend trying to create a homemade version!  That way I can whip up one any time I want!

And while this isn't a drink I have tried, I did want to mention it, because I am hoping to give it a go this far - apple mimosas, or apple-mosas?  Not sure what the technical term would be, but I remember pinning this drink last year or the one before and I still need to make it!  I love apple juice, and I love mimosas, so combining the two sounds like a great idea to me!

This post has me wanting to have ALL the drinks now.  If you shared your favorites, please link up below!  Can't wait to check all the posts out!

  5. Caramel Apple Sangria! So good! Good for a crowd, but I am sure you could modify for an individual drink!
    2 apples
6 cups apple cider (I am sure you could use Simply Apple, too)
    1 cup caramel flavored vodka
    1 750ml of pinot grigio

Also, warmed or chilled apple cider with just caramel vodka is good, too :)

    Happy Fall!

  7. I just discovered simply apple a few weeks ago and am obsessed with it because it is more cider-like! I love really fancy hot chocolates and my favorite starbucks fall drink is definitely the salted caramel mocha!

  11. I used to love PSLs, but then I think overdid it one year, so now I only get one right in the middle of fall. Chai lattes are my go-to, even in summer (iced). I'm a big fan of the spice! The Simply Apple+Fireball sounds a little bit like my favorite, which is the Smoked Apple- apple pie moonshine, bourbon and ginger ale. That was so smart of putting the Fireball on the side so guests could craft it themselves. Love the idea of the apple-mosa. Interested in hearing how it turns out!
