Friday Favorites

HAPPY FRIDAY!



1.  This has been a week!  I thought Tuesday afternoon, things would get back to 'normal' at work, but they continued to stay busy, busy, busy.  To say I am excited for the weekend would be an understatement.  Plans are up in the air for the weekend, other than watching the Super Bowl.  I am planning on making some wings and ordering in pizza.  My mouth is literally watering right now, just thinking of being able to have some crust, yum!   

2.  I found a new to me coffee drink  - a caramel macchiato with skim milk.  I tried a coconut vanilla latte at work last week, but it tasted too much like regular coffee (I honestly wonder if it wasn't made right, because there was no hint of vanilla in there at all, but I don't really want to take my chances of trying it again and it really just not being to my tastes), so the next time I went for the caramel macchiato and boy, was it good!  I try to limit my coffee to the weekend, but like I said, work was a doozy and required some indulging early on in the week.

3.  Speaking of indulging, or rather NOT indulging, my hard work and strict eating has really paid off.  I have lost 5 pounds!  I am absolutely amazed by that number.  When I have done work weight loss challenges, 5 pounds is what I normally lose during the entirety of the program.  I always am good at the beginning and then fluctuation, so that my total weight loss is never where I want it to be.  So far, the keys for me have been doing my Femme Fit work outs (seriously love this app - it's expensive, but the work outs are killer and I have really seen results from them), tracking what I eat on My Fitness Pal app, and of course, cutting out those delicious carbs.  And when I say carbs, I mean bread, pasta, rice - that type of things.  Hopefully I can continue strong!  It's kind of funny though, when I saw that number on the scale, I was really excited and wanted to celebrate...with food.  I didn't, though, so cheers to that!

4.  I haven't listened to music lately - my drive to work is pretty short and I always seem to hit the radio stations during commercials.  However, on the way home the other night I heard Luke Bryan's Most People Are Good song.  It's so good!  I love the lyrics!  If you haven't heard it, I would definitely suggest checking it out.

5.  Annnnnd I am struggling with a 5th favorite for the week, so I am just going to round out this post with a little recap of the blog this week.

  3. CONGRATS on the 5lbs!! That's awesome!! I'm not seeing the scale move much and it's frustrating for sure - I'm going to look into those workouts! What is it, you buy the app and the workouts on just on your phone? How many are there? Are they long?

  9. Yummm football food is my favorite!! I can't wait for this weekend. We're making calzones and dips :) Iced caramel macchiatos are my favorite - caramel + coffee is my favorite combo :)

  10. I LOVE Luke Bryan's new song! And yes, breaking that cycle where we see food as the first reward to celebrate with is tough. Blah...I'm 19 days in and have lost about 6 lbs and am most excited I can have coffee again on Sunday!!

  15. I love a Caramel Mocchiato with skim milk. It's one of my go-tos. I also like it with almond milk or coconut milk. And great job on the weight loss results!
