TBB Asks: New Year, New You!

The Blended Blog is continuing their TBB Asks link up, with a 'new year, new you' Q&A for this month.  I am always so grateful when Andrea sends these out, because they were such fun prompts!

1. Resolutions or No Resolutions? Yes!  I am definitely a resolutions girl.  I shared them last week, and you can see them here.

2. Love Snow or No Snow?  I love snow when I have no place to be and can just sit and enjoy it from home.  It snowed on Christmas Eve this year and it was the perfect day because we had no place to go and could just hang out at home.  But if I have to drive anywhere in it (even if I am not the driver), I get stressed out to the max and I wish it would just stay away!  Case in point with Christmas Eve...by the end of the day I was already worried about our drive to my grandma's on Christmas, and I wasn't even driving!

3. Name a New Place you want to go this year?  That is a tough one - there are so many places!  As of right now, Bermuda!

4. Would you rather have a new Hair Cut or Hair Color?  Probably hair color.  I used to be a lot blonder back in the day (when I was little, my hair was practically white!), but my hair definitely darkened up after college.  This happened to my dad, too, so I was kind of expecting it.  I wouldn't mind going back to that lighter color, though, as long as it was somehow done naturally.  I could not stand the upkeep of highlighting or dying my hair!

5. Name one special thing you want to do for yourself this year?  I really have no clue!

6. Least Favorite thing about January?  It means that my favorite time of year is over!!!

7. Most Favorite thing about January?  It's a fresh start to the year.  Like most people, I make resolutions, get motivated to eat healthier, work out more consistently, and purge and organize.  All those things are great, and I love having that renewed energy.

8. When do you take down your Holiday decorations?  Normally I take them down right around NYE.  However, this year, since my mom offered to come and help, I waited until the second weekend after Christmas.  Usually that would drive me nuts, but this year I feel like I could keep it up for even longer!

9. Do you diet in January?  Of course!  I actually started right after Christmas when I got back to St. Louis.  I don't have a specific diet, but I do track my calories on the My Fitness Pal app, as well as try to eat healthier.

10. What area of your home do you want to organize the most?  My bedroom / closet.  I have one closet in my apartment, and that is my bedroom closet.  It's the largest one I have ever had, but I try to pack in as much as I can in there (clothes, obviously, but all my tubs of decor, old dance outfits, craft supplies, etc.) and it always seems messy and cluttered.  As for my bedroom, it has never felt 'complete' decor-wise and my book shelf is overflowing with books.  Not to mention my jewelry usually finds its place on my dresser, rather than back inside my jewelry box.  I am going to add on another area and say my kitchen.  I feel like it is pretty organized, but maybe I just have too much stuff?  Also, my 'pantry' is basically two cubes full of stuff from Target and it feels like they are always overflowing.  I cleaned them out recently, but if I figured out a better way to organized things overall would probably go a long way.

11. Favorite Winter Comfort Food?  This is so hard!  I would say either French Oven Beef Stew, Beef and Noodles, or Beef Fasolia.  Oh, and I cannot forget my mom's meatloaf!  Seem like I have a thing for beef!

12. Favorite Guilty Pleasure.  Oh goodness, I don't even know.  I actually did a post on my guilty pleasures last year, that you can see here, but it pretty much boils down to reality TV, cheesy books and food.

  3. I wish I had blonde hair naturally because the upkeep can be annoying and it's expensive haha! So sweet that your mom helped you take down your decor this year!!! Happy Monday!

  6. I love snow, too! It’s been such a weird winter for us — super cold but still not much snow. I’m hoping we get a blizzard or two by the end of the season. Like you said, curling up at home during a snowstorm is one of the best feelings!

  7. I LOVE the snow but I'm with you, not if I have to actually drive in it, unless it's somewhere close. All that food sounds amazing and I actually have meatloaf on the menu this week!

  10. YES to Bermuda! I'm still raving about our cruise there in 2016. I recommend cruising there because it's expensive to fly in and stay there, but on a cruise you enjoy the ship on the way there and back, all your food and on board activities are included, and the ship docks for a few days to really enjoy and explore the island. Let me know if you have any questions about cruiselines or the island itself. And yes to snow when you can be cozy at home, and don't have to be anywhere <3

  11. I so wish I was going somewhere warm. As much as I love winter, it's been too cold for even me. I'm over these negative temperatures.

  12. Reality TV is definitely one of my guilty pleasures too, though I am trying to watch less of it this year. I would loooove to be in Bermuda right now- or anywhere 60 degrees or above! lol.

  14. This is a fun Q&A! My hair was actually blonde when I was really little too and now it's super dark in the winter and lightens a lot in the summer. Bermuda sounds AMAZING. We haven't had snow here in a few years though so a cabin in the snow somewhere with a stack of really good books sounds amazing too! I am on a "organization isn't the problem, too much stuff is" kick again and am getting ready to purge like crazy. It's hard to get rid of stuff but we all probably need 10% of the stuff we have.

  16. I'm right there with you on the resolutions/goals. I LOVE making goals for myself for the year and working toward achieving them. And my mom's meatloaf is my favorite, too! I love me some beef!! Also, I just realized I STILL haven't changed from a no-reply blogger, so you will see that yet again reflected in your email. #FacePalm
