Work Wear for the Week

Two Sundays ago, I got all my clothes together for the week, and attempted to create some cute lay-flats.  I feel like business work wear isn't all that represented out in the blog world, and while I love all the casual looks I see and read about, it's just not my reality.  I can wear jeans on Fridays, but Monday-Thursday is more business-like, although I do not have to wear a full suit.  I thought it would be fun to share a work's week worth of outfits each month as a way to switch things up.  And it also will ensure that at least one week out of the month I will have my outfits picked out for the whole week!

A lot of what is pictured is from The Limited...which is no longer (and makes me so sad!).

Tell me - do you have to dress up for work?  Where is your favorite place to shop for more professional clothes?

Linking up with Jenn and Jessi.

  1. I am obsessed with the 2nd shirt with the tie neck. Definitely something I would wear. And I love the 4th outfit completely! I feel you on the jeans--I can only wear those on Friday too. Before we moved schools, I used to wear heels almost every day because I taught on carpet, but now that I teach on concrete, I can't stand all day in heels anymore! Basically only wedges. Sometimes I envy people who can dress really nice for work because I love dress clothes! And then I also wish I could wear blue jeans every day ha!

  3. Love these outfits! I feel the same way about Limited! I used to get most of my work clothes from there, too. Boo. :( I would say Banana Republic and White House Black Market are my other favorites for finding professional clothes.

  4. Love this! Especially that green skirt, I want that! You're so right about business clothes not being shown very much in the blog world, honestly very few bloggers I follow have office-type jobs so I'm glad I'm not alone :) great idea and thanks for sharing!

  5. Those green pants are a nice option instead of the normal black! I like the green blouse and skirt combo too!

  8. I love that 4th outfit! I'm pretty sure that all of my work clothes come from Loft or JCrew Factory (they have the BEST skirts).

  10. I love the top in the second photo! Work wear 5 days a week is my reality too and there's not much inspiration out there. Nordstrom, Ann Taylor & the Loft are my current work wear faves!

  12. Super cute!! So did the Limited close completely? I know the one in our local mall did, but I didn't know if it was all of them. I'm a huge Banana Republic fan for dress clothes and the Loft is hit or miss for me!

  13. Such cute outfits sometimes I miss working in a more professional office where I had to dress up for work but that is only sometimes haha The office I work in part time is a causal office so jeans and a nice top and for doing hair I don't need to be all dressed up for that either. Seeing those outfits makes me wanna dress up for work tomorrow haha ;)

    Happy Hump Day!

  16. LOVE LOVE LOVE this post! I always love your style, too! I have to dress for work five days a week as well, so jeans aren't my reality either. We don't have to wear suits either, though, thank goodness, because that would get old really quick!

  17. I love that green skirt! It's so cute! I'm right there with you for having to dress up during the week, and sometimes it's hard to find business wear representation in the blog fashion world.

  20. I love this idea! I'm business casual so I don't have to really dress up all that much. I tend to wear leggings with dresses/skirts/etc. or khakis and a nicer top.

  21. LOVE that green skirt! Skirts and dresses were such my go to when I was younger but ever since baby #4 I have just not been able to pull off the pencil skirts. Love every one of these.
