I first start reading blogs about 4-5 years ago.  I loved finding new blogs that had been around for awhile so I could just comb through the archives, reading back posts.  After reading for some time, I got the urge to start my own blog.  Fast forward about two years, I finally started my own blog.  While I am still trying to get the hang of it all, I am so happy to have my own little space.  Today, I thought I would share with you the ones that started it all for me.

iheart organizing.  I think this was the very first blog I ever read.  What drew me in were all the fun organizing ideas.  I love to organize and this blog really has some amazing ideas.  Not only are there organizing posts, there are a ton of home DIY posts.  If you haven't checked out iheart organizing before, definitely do so, soon!  Allow yourself plenty of time, because trust me, you will get sucked in!

Fancy Ashley.  Ashley has a little bit of everything on her blog.  In her earlier posts, you can read all about her family, crafts and recipes, while more recently you can read some fun fashion and home posts.  I love the tagline of her blog - everyday needs a little fancy.  Such a fun way to look at life!

Honey We're Home.  With this blog, you get great fashion and home projects, along with fitness posts.  A new baby has been added to the mix which has been really fun to follow along, from the nursery to now fitness posts on losing the baby weight.

Mix & Match Family.  I originally came across Mix and Match Mama, where Shay posts quick and easy recipes.  Once I found out she had a family blog, I started reading.  It's just so fun to see the day-to-day happenings of her adorable family.

What blogs got you hooked on blogging?  Are any of the above ones that caused you to be bitten by the blogging bug?

  1. I think one of the first blogs I ever read was Blue Eyed Bride! I remember reading it when I was in college and now she has 3 kids. It's so neat to follow along with your favorite bloggers! And now my favorite is Shay :)

  19. I wasn't a big blog reader before starting my blog, but the discovery of one blog did inspire me to start mine. I randomly landed on Erin's blog Let the Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore while home on spring break five years ago. I immediately was hooked and obsessed with reading her blog. Later that week, while bored, I remember thinking "I can do this!" and started mine. After that I got sucked into the blog world and some of my favorite blogs are the ones I found right around the same time I started mine! I'm a big fan of A. Liz Adventures, Miss Dixie, and Pawley's Island Posh/Julia Ryan, just to name a few!

  20. I haven't heard of any of these blogs, but I am definitely checking them all out now! I started blogging back in the days of Xanga (early 2000s) to keep in touch with friends while I was overseas because that was before social media was a thing. So I guess I was blogging before I really read other blogs, ha! I do love the Pioneer Woman, though! Her blog is so much fun! :)

  21. Fun idea for a post! I love this! I actually started blogging before I started reading blogs, if that makes any sense. Once I realized there was a whole blogging world out there, I started reading Little Baby Garvin. Veronika's Blushing is another one I started early on. iheart organizing is such a great blog to follow!

  26. For sure it was Shay. She got me hooked when I realized I was more excited to read her blog first thing in the morning before anything else! I wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't for sure. And thank goodness we found each other's :)

  27. Young House Love started it all for me! I read religiously every day and looked forward to their posts the most. Sadly they retired from blogging a few years ago. From there, I found Bower Power and iHeart Organizing. Now I have a bunch that I read all the time and love!
