Weekend Recap

This past weekend was super nice.  Not only was it a long weekend, it was Valentine's Day weekend!  Here are a few highlights from the past few days.

Friday brought an early Valentine's Day celebration - a surprise stay in the city with dinner out.  Below is the view from our room.  Every time I go downtown, I want to move to the city!

Brunch on Saturday at one of my favorite places - Rooster

Played major DVR catch up.  I had 4 episodes of Pretty Little Liars to watch.  I have to say - I am NOT a fan of Caleb and Spencer.  It just seems so odd!  Bring back Haleb!

For the "at home" Valentine's Day celebration, I made lamb.  I used the Armenian Lamb Shish Kebabs recipe from Kris Jenner's cookbook.  Delicious!

Did absolutely nothing on Sunday.  While I should have been semi-productive it was nice to just relax, watch Hallmark movies and read.  I didn't feel as bad because I knew I would be able to get some things done on Monday.

Saw Deadpool on Monday.  I was really excited about this movie, mainly because of Ryan Reynolds.  It was good!!  A very sarcastic and hilarious take on a super hero movie.  Definitely a movie for adults though.  There was a family in the theater, and although the kids seemed like teenagers, I still felt like it wasn't necessarily appropriate.

It was so nice to have that extra day off...now I am just counting the days until the next three day weekend...come on Memorial Day!  I am thinking I will be needing to get in some PTO before then.

  8. It sounds like you had a great Valentine's Day weekend! The lamb you cooked looks so delicious! Sometimes I like it when I have a lot of PLL episodes to watch because it helps me to remember what's going on. I'm so jealous that you got Monday off! Don't forget we have Good Friday off in March if your company considers that a holiday!

  10. OMG Caleb and Spencer!? WTF?! Are they doing this to upset us!? I don't like any of them broken up honestly. Actually, I lied. I'm ok with Aria and Ezra being broken up. But I NEED Haleb in my life!!

  13. Sounds like so much fun!! And surprise stay downtown sounds so nice!!! We were debating between Deadpool and Star Wars this weekend and Star Wars won (can you tell we don't get out much since that movie has been out forever!?) Anything with Ryan R. is a win though!

  24. I looove your first two pictures. I also want to move to the city every time I go there.. but probably only if I had millions of dollars and could live in a big penthouse.

  25. Super jealous of your extra day off! And I'm totally with you on the Spaleb situation, totally weirds me out! I miss Haleb!

  26. Those views of the city are amazing! Oh my gosh I actually LOVE Caleb and Spencer together and Hannah with her fiance so I'm just over here hoping Haleb doesn't happen again! Hahaha. I thought Deadpool was so funny! But I agree, all these families taking their kids and then being shocked (I've seen some articles about it)...I'm like, really?! You just don't check ratings anymore?! Even with teenagers, I feel like that'd be uncomfortable to watch as a teenager with your parents or as a parent with your teenager!

  27. Sometimes you just need a day to lay on the sofa and watch Hallmark movies. I'm convinced it's good for you. Sounds like a great weekend!

  28. Wow, such a pretty sunset picture! I need to see Deadpool. I've heard so many great things about it! I'm not a huge "go to the theater to watch a movie" kind of person (I prefer Redbox haha!) but I might have to make an exception for this!

  30. What gorgeous pictures from your hotel-- and what a fun Valentine's Day getaway! My husband and I both love lamb but never really cook it at home-- your picture makes me want to change that because it looks soo good! I just recently started watching PLL and am only in season 2, but Spencer and Caleb together does seem so weird!
